Vida Lee Elsner

Vida Lee Elsner, 72, of Springfield, IL passed away on January 22, 2020 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, IL.

Vida was born in Springfield, IL on May 27, 1947 the daughter of David H. Elsner and Frances V. (Chronister) Elsner.

In her youth she lived an athletic life, playing all the sports and even enjoyed swimming and dancing as she grew up. Vida also loved to travel and had an opportunity to go to Europe and tried her hand at skiing. She started working at the age of 16 and continued working her entire life. Vida went to school to be a Dental Assistant and worked in that field for many years before becoming a hairdresser here in Springfield for 20+ years. She had one son Matthew McCoy who preceded her in death.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son; brothers, Rollie, David, and Robert Gregory.

Vida is survived by her sister, Sharon Willhoit, nephews, Doug Willhoit and Jessie Hundley; as well as some extended family and friends. She will be great missed by the people that knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Cremation services have been accorded by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
