Ronald Burris

Ronald Burris, 82, of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Springfield, IL passed away on Sunday April 24, 2022 in the company of his family.

Ron was born in Springfield, IL on March 18, 1940 the son of Loren and Marie (Bessie) Burris. He attended and graduated from Lanphier High School in the class of 1958. Ron worked for CILCO as a Gas Service Supervisor for many years and worked for 8 years for the Secretary of State. Ron was a former member of the Rochester Christian Church and was attending Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach.  

Ron was married to Nancy Irene Yeaman on October 11, 1958. She preceded him in death in 2012. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and his companion, Lou. He also loved his daily walks around his neighborhood, playing corn hole, attending church, watching NASCAR and the Packers on Sundays, and working in his yard. He also built four houses in his spare time while working a full-time job. He was the hardest working man anyone could have known.

Ron is survived by his children, Rhonda (Joe) Teich of Ormond Beach, FL, and Ronnie (Kelly) Burris of Springfield, IL; companion, Lou Morrisette of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren, Andrew (Beata) Teich of Sandy, UT, Jessica Teich of Ormond Beach, FL, Erica (Yohann) Iltis of Leesburg, VA, and Tyler and Jake Burris of Chatham, IL; and two great grandchildren. his brother Richard Burris of Rochester, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Burris; his parents; and brothers, David, and Jim Burris.

A visitation will be held at the Rochester Christian Church, 325 S Walnut St, Rochester, IL 62563 on Saturday May 7, 2022 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 11:00am.
