Mary Moody Obituary

Mary Alice Moody, 84, of Sherman, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Mary was born on January 17, 1937, in Springfield, the daughter of Carl and Florence (McFadden) Cooper. She married Dwight Moody on September 13, 1959 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2009.

Mary was a U of I graduate, 4H Leader for several years and loved to quilt. She was a member of Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church, and worked in Pastoral Care at Memorial Medical Center for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Aaron Patrick Moody; and one sister, Louise Oller.

Mary is survived by her three children, Anita (Terry) Brown, Paul (Jennifer) Moody, and Julie (Jeff) Hatten; six grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Molly Wozniak, Maggie Wultzen, Andrew, Madeline and Kristyn Moody; four great grandchildren, Quentin Smith, Lydia & Isaac Wultzen and Lucy Wozniak; one sister, Elinor Drake; special cousin Rosemary Moody; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, 200 S. Church Street, in Mechanicsburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 22, at Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church 7862 Buffalo Hart Rd Williamsville, IL 62693 with Reverend Mary Jessup officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church.
