Kelly Merz-Hooper

Kelly Merz-Hooper, 44, of Springfield, IL passed away on January 12, 2021 in her home.

She was born on July 29, 1976 in Springfield Il to her Parents Kelly Merz and Tammy Newell. She is Proceeded in death by her Paternal grandparents Lewis & Norma Jean Merz of Springfield Il. She is survived in death by her Parents Kelly Merz & wife Terri (Handley) of Springfield IL., Tammy Newell of Springfield IL. Maternal grandparents Judy & Carl Aufrecht of Florida, Son Zachary Hooper of Springfield IL., Sister Tiffany Stockton of Columbus, OH., Nephew Kent Trice of Columbus OH., Nieces Reighauna Stockton of Columbus OH., Dariauna, Airieauna, and Zamariauna Trice all of Springfield IL., several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Kelly was in the Army in 1999 and was later honorably discharged.

While here on this Earth Kelly was a free spirited person and had one of the biggest hearts and loved many people. Kelly loved her son unconditionally and was so amazed with the man he has become.

For those that knew her knew the kind of person she was. Kelly will forever be loved and missed by many.

We didn’t always get along but she was something special to me love you sissy.

Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements 217-544-5755. She will be laid to rest at Camp Butler National Cemetery.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date for her close friends and family.
