Fred L. Roese, 72, of Rochester, IL passed away in Jacksonville on Thursday October 1, 2020.
Fred was born in Springfield on June 16, 1948 the son of Elmer and Lila (Bouvet) Roese.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Fred is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean (Spengler) Roese; two daughters, Brandy (husband, Dale Jr.) Thomas, and Laurel (husband, Michael) Brown; three grandchildren, Adain Roese, Sylvia Thomas, and Philip Brown; one brother, Robert L. (wife, Marsha) Roese, and many friends.
Fred graduated from Rochester High School and attended college at Illinois College in Jacksonville. He retired from Horace Mann after 19 years and was Employee of the Year in 2001. Fred and his family also owned the Roese Bowl Restaurant and Bowling Alley in Illiopolis, IL for many years.
He was an avid reader and became President of the Rochester Library. Fred enjoyed fishing and was part of the Springfield Bridge Club. He coached Pony League baseball in Rochester as well.
Visitation will be held at the Rochester Christian Church on Monday October 5th, 2020 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 12:00noon. Pastor Brad Ferris will be officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery
Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, the Rochester Christian Church, or the Rochester Library.
