Dominic Rosa, 94 of Rochester, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023.
He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 25, 1928, to Charles and Rose Rosa. He married Jean Rosa on July 1, 1950. They shared 68 beautiful years together before she preceded him in death in 2018.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda Teater (Larry) of Rochester; son, Mike (Connie) of Streator; sister-in-law, Sue Thomas of Springfield; grandchildren, Heather Bernardes (Chuck), Shawna Teater, Shane Teater (Emily), Tim Rosa (Kim), Jill Seaton (Matt), and Angela Miller (Nate); sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean, and his brothers, Pete and Johnny, and sisters, Mary and Ceil.
Dominic will be remembered as a handyman who could fix just about anything, and spent countless hours tending to his garden and cutting grass on his Massey Ferguson. Many grandchildren looked forward to riding on the tractor with grandpa.
Dominic was an electrician and retired from Peabody Coal. He also had a construction company with his brother Pete with whom he built and remodeled homes. He and his wife, Jean were also part owners of Soup-R-Bowl bowling alley in Rochester. Dominic was also a member of Little Flower Parish.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.
