David H. Paoni

David Harold Paoni Sr., 85, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday Aug 3, 2022 in Rochester. Dave was born on December 12, 1936, in Springfield, the son of Dorothy DeArrow and Fred Paoni. He married Marcia Spaith on June 1, 1974 and became an instant family of 8 with their 6 children.

Dave was a graduate of Feitshans High School and went on to earn a Civil Engineering Degree at U of I. He retired from the State of Illinois and enjoyed traveling the country with his beloved wife in their RV, spending their winters in Harlingen, Texas. He was an avid golfer and loved playing cards and socializing with friends. He will be deeply missed by many friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Matthew and David Paoni Jr.

Dave is survived by his wife Marcia; daughter, Cindy (Rod) Ambrose, and their children, Zachary and Chase Ambrose; step daughters, Susan Larson, and Jude Spaith; stepson, Robert Spaith; grandsons, Rick Larson Jr. and family, Aaron Larson and family; two brothers, Paul and Joe Paoni; beloved great grandchildren Brynlee, Vincent, Zelda, Brandon and Blaze as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, from 5:00-7:00PM at Rochester Christian Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, at 10:00Am with Pastor Brad Ferris officiating.

Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
