Clara Ann (Reid) Roberts

Clara gained her wings on September 18, 2022.
She died of natural causes in her home in Springfield, IL. She was formally from Illiopolis.
Clara was born to Albert and Margaret (Susie) Hering Reid on October 5, 1938, in Olney, IL. Clara was baptized in the Bone Gap Christian Church and was later involved in the Illiopolis Christian Church. Clara liked to say that her job was a “Domestic Goddess” over her six children, Gary, Curt, Bruce, Sonya, Ann and Christine. She was involved with her children in the Illiopolis School District and supported them in many Bulldog and Pirate sports activities along with the Illiopolis 4-H club. She was a current member of The American Legion Post #73, Taylorville & Navy Club USA Ship #32 Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tom Roberts. Also surviving are her six children, Gary (Holly) Hallam of Fl. Curtis (Susan) Hallam of IN. Bruce (Jan) Hallam of IL. Sonya (Jeff) Huffines of IL. Ann (Randy) Unger of IL. Christine Roberts of IL. Clara also has one brother Clarence (Carolyn) Reid of AL. Clara was a devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Clara was greeted in Heaven by her dad, Albert and her mom, Margaret (Susie) Reid. Donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, or either of the Churches or Auxiliaries in lieu of flowers. The service will be at the Illiopolis Christian Church on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. Visitation will be from 2-3pm. Service immediately following. Burial will be at a later date at the Illiopolis Riverside Cemetery.
