Evelyn G. Goin, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Heritage Health.

Evelyn was born on October 23, 1928 in Niantic the daughter of George and Clara Pickel Canaday.  She married Robert Goin on October 31, 1946 at Third Presbyterian Church and had been married over 71 years.

She worked for Horace Mann Insurance Company and for the Department of Agriculture in the Division of County Fairs where she retired.  She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star (Flower City Chapter).  She enjoyed spending winters in Weslaco, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Hughie L. Canaday.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Goin of Springfield; children, Donna Cloyd of Taylorville, Jim (Susan) Goin of Las Vegas, Mike (Charlene) Goin of Rogers, AR and Vicki (Tom) Walker of Rochester; sister, Irene Gasaway of Rogers, TX; several grandchildren, including, Brandon Goin, Baylee Goin, Matt and Kevin Walker and Brianna Luedke; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Eby officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church.
