Steven A Bosie

Steven A. Bosie, Sr., took his final breaths in this life, with his dog CJ curled up by his side, early Tuesday morning September 21, 2021.  Always by his side he also leaves his loving wife Lou and their devoted son Shelby.  With a mourning heart his oldest son Steve, Jr., also lives on with his family, wife Jackie, sons Nick and Jake, his wife Lyndsey and Steve’s great-grandchildren Jace and Scarlet. 

Although with great sadness his Bosie family, his brother Dan, sisters, Linda, JoAnne (Jerry) and Kathy (Greg) and many nieces, nephews and their children will continue to live their lives in the same spirit that Steve lived his. 

Passing on from life, before him, were his parents, William D. Bosie, Margaret Bosie Smith and step-father Douglas Smith and his middle son Jeff.  Sadly, we also mourned the passing of his siblings of William, Mary Ellen, and James, along with several brothers and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews. 

Steve was born June 6, 1950, had a happy and fun filled childhood and loved the life he lived.  He was devoted during the 40 years he was employed at the Harley Davidson shop and was happy when he could retire and spend his time enjoying family, friends and racing with his son.  He was most content when we were camping and enjoying really good food or in his “happy place” in Florida where the quality of time far exceeded the quantity or the main focus of his life for many years, being Crew Chief for Shelby Racing Team.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of our first responders we are asking that donations be made to the Sherman Fire Protection District.  During our many years in Sherman, in time of need Steve discovered that first responders is exactly who they are, and his wishes were to support the Sherman Fire Protection District, 2215 E. Andrew Road, Sherman, IL  62684.

Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home are serving the family at 530 N. 5th Street, Springfield, Illinois.  We will gather to say goodbye on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., visiting amongst our family and friends with a service to conclude the evening.
