Stephen Willard Franklin

Stephen Willard Franklin, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on March 31, 2022 in the company of his family.

Born on October 18, 1955 to Gillis and Helen (Miller) Franklin, Stephen was a life-long resident of Edinburg. He was a devoted husband and father, who enjoyed spending time outdoors and camping with his family and dogs.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 39 years, Darlene (Tate) Franklin; mother, Helen Franklin of Taylorville; two daughters Stephanie Franklin, of Madisonville, KY, and Melissa (Joshua) Bowman, of Old Fort, OH; five grandchildren, Haley, Audrey, Levi, Micah and Lydia; one sister, Denise (Jack) Weitekamp, of Morrisonville; and one brother, Douglas Franklin, of Coleman, AL. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Gillis Franklin.

Cremation services are being accorded at Wilson Park Funeral Homes, and a graveside service is being held in the future at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control.
