Joyce Ann Baker, 88, of Edinburg, passed away Monday December, 21, 2020 at her home.
Joyce was born on January 12, 1932, in Christian County, the daughter of John Walter Hargis and Clara Marie (Toberman) Hargis. She married Lee S. Baker on January 18, 1953 at Sharpsburg Methodist Church.
Joyce was a housewife and spent most of her life working on the family farm. She was an active member of the Edinburg United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Lee; sons, Joe L. Baker, of Edinburg and Brian E (wife, Jun), of Rochester; Granddaughters Amanda “Mandy” (husband, late Kris) Getz of Edinburg, Paige (husband, Zach) Meier of Springfield, Ellyn Baker, of Springfield, and Abigail (husband, Maricio) Kuri, of Forest Park, IL.; Step granddaughter Shen Wang, of Rochester; Great Grandchildren Karson and Keagan Getz, of Edinburg, and Remy Jackson, of Springfield; Sister, Marian Hargis Melzer, of Springfield; Niece, Janice (Melzer) (husband, Will) Payton of Springfield, along with several great nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 private family services will be held with burial at Edinburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Edinburg United Methodist Church, Edinburg Food Bank, or Edinburg EMS.
Wilson Park Funeral Home, 109 East Washington Street, in Edinburg is in charge of arrangements.
