Janet R Coe

Janet R. Coe, 75, of Mechanicsburg, IL passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born August 26, 1944 in St. Elmo, IL the daughter of Howard E. and Doris R. (Guthrie) Jones who preceded her in death. She married Richard L. Coe on December 19, 1964.

Janet was employed as a secretary for the State of Illinois, SIU School of Medicine, and for many private companies including the family business of Coe Service.

She was a member of the Bissell United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years and was involved in church music ministry for most of her adult life. She dedicated her life to looking after the needs of her family, community, and church family.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her daughter, Julie (Mark) Shelby of Sherman; son, Jason (Pam) Coe of Illiopolis; brother, John (Nicki) Jones of Temple, TX; grandchildren Eric Reed of Springfield, Ashley Reed of Sherman, and Eston Coe of Illiopolis; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 5–7 p.m. at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 24 at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
