William “Bill” D. Watkins, 84, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Capitol Healthcare.

Bill was born on February 18, 1932 in Franklin the son of Elmer and Frances Winter Watkins.  He married Marcella Willis on September 23, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Pleasant Plains; she preceded him in death on April 22, 2010.

Bill was a truck driver and retired from Boesdorfer Trucking after 32 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He is survived by five children, Ron (wife, Sheila) Watkins, Sandy (husband, Raymond) Barton, David (wife, Connie) Watkins, Becky (husband, Rodney) Raps, and Beth Chadwick; one brother, Boone (Bonnie) Watkins; two sisters, Delores Spitznagel and Tootie Lamm; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Keith Masten officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
