Robert H. Rothert, 95, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his residence.

Robert was born on October 13, 1922 in Pleasant Plains, the son of William and Emma Boehme Rothert.  He married Norma Jean Bateman on September 14, 1947 in Mansfield, IL; she preceded him in death on January 21, 2002.

He was a cattle and grain farmer his whole life.  He was a member of Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rolland Rothert; and sister, Kathryn Hill.

He is survived by his son, William (Hillary) Rothert of Pleasant Plains; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be at 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Pastor John Ray officiating.  Burial will be at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Pleasant Plains FFA.
