Lula Olive “Ollie” Stone, 91, of Springfield, went home to her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at The Mosaic of Springfield.

Ollie was born on March 1, 1925 in Springfield the daughter of George and Iva Dowllar Woods. 

She worked for several factories including making shoes and bobbie pins.  She retired in 1995 after 15 years working for St. John’s Hospital Laundry.  She loved to dance and was a member of the House of Prayer Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Ethel Campbell, Nellie, Bob and Bill Woods.

She is survived by four children, Charlotte Black, Shirley Hackwith, Nancy Stone and Charles L. Stone Jr., all of Springfield; two sisters, Mary (Bob) Stover of Springfield and Ellen (Jim) Hollis of Belleville; one brother, George (Darlene) Woods of Springfield; twelve grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend LeRoy Donathon officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
