Chester Linder, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. John’s Hospice.
Chester was born on August 9, 1935 in Salem the son of Lee and Delba Bradley Linder. He married Wyvetta Brumfield on January 21, 1999 in Springfield.
Chester was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He worked for City of Riverton and later for the City of West Covina, CA with the road department in both. He was a longtime member of the Riverton Lavely Lodge 786.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; and sister, Elsie Wells.
He is survived by his wife, Wyvetta; daughter-in-law Teri; brother, Ralph Linder; grandchildren, Justin and Danielle Linder; great granddaughter, Rylee; and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Visitation will be from 3-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 with a Masonic Service at 5:00 p.m. at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. There will be an additional visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
