Albert Lee Hood, 68, of Springfield passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center.

Albert was born on March 1, 1948 in Springfield the son of Albert Franklin and Marjorie McHenry Hood.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a cement finisher for over 40 years and a member of Union Local #18.  He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Eagles, and American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and playing horseshoes.

He is survived by one daughter, Alison (William) Cox of Springfield, three sisters, Cheri Deverman of Fairview Heights, Susan K. Mudd of Springfield and  Kathy (Gary) Harrison of Dawson; two brothers, Robin A. and Peter T. (Carol) Hood both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Trenton and Ryleigh Cox; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.  There will be a celebration of life at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Third Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joe Ebby officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church.
